WPML Partnership
We support WordPress localization with WPML
WordPress is the most popular web content management system by far. As the usage statistics from w3techs.com show, the CMS is used by 43% of all websites and results in a market share of 64% among content management systems, in September 2022.
In order to support our WordPress customers, STAR7 initiate a formal partnership with WPML. Translations setups and website updates are easy as they can be.
In the past, a website may not have been much more than some HTLM pages on a server. The localisation of such a site was a child’s game:
- Download the page/pages
- Translate
- Upload into a subfolder on the server
- Link to that folder and you were done.
However, the creation of web pages was pretty difficult, as webmasters had to work mostly manually.
CMS made web author’s life easier, but localizing them was not a simple task still. In fact, not all content management systems were projected with translation in mind. Eventually, many popular systems either built-in translation workflows or relevant plugins.
Unlike Joomla, Drupal, or Typo3, and despite its popularity, WordPress has not yet implemented a built-in translation workflow. Anyhow, several plugins are available to manage multilingual WordPress sites. After further research, we found that WMPL has the most complete and user-friendly features and is spiking.

How do STAR7 clients use the WPML plugin?
Given the example of our clients, here is a step-by-step guide on how they use WPML:
- Client buys WPML and installs it into their WordPress.
- Client adds languages to their site. WPML establishes a connection behind the scenes with STAR7.
- Client selects pages for translation.
- WPML sends the selected pages to STAR7.
- STAR7 communicates with the client and provides a quote if needed. We can avoid this with a standing agreement.
- STAR7 translates using our normal quality process.
- STAR7 uploads files back into WPML.
- WPML automatically integrates the translations back into the client’s site.
Existing customers are welcome to contact their Geo liaison for further information. To new clients, we ask you to please Contact Us or Request a quote and mention that you would like to know more about our support for WPML. Otherwise, find out more directly on WMPL.org.
